The Piscataway Cultural Arts Commission continues to honor Piscataway veterans with the Hometown Heroes banner program! We show our appreciation to those whom have served by displaying their photographs on individual banners hanging from lampposts along certain streets and at civic sites.
We invite you to come to the Kennedy Library, 500 Hoes Lane, on Saturday, September 27th from 1-4 p.m. to submit a photograph of a loved from any branch of the United States armed forces. The veterans must be retired from service, honorably discharged or killed in action and have been a Piscataway resident at one time.
Banner space on lampposts is limited so entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. All photos must be unframed and in reasonable good quality. No photocopies on poor quality paper can be accepted.
The individual in the photo must be in a U.S. military uniform. Please label the photo on its back with the veteran’s name as well as your name and phone number. Please also bring the veteran’s DD214. All photos will be returned at a later date.
Submission forms will be available to complete at registration.
For any questions or if you are unable to come to the Kennedy Library, please call Commission Chair Kitty Juttner at (732) 563-4117 or (908) 230-2862.
