Piscataway Historical & Heritage Society - Harlem Hellfighters

The Harlem Hellfighters were among the first American units to engage in Word War I combat. Of the 2,000 men who shipped out of Hoboken in December 1917, more than 170 were New Jersey volunteers with three (3) from Middlesex County, including Archie Redd of New Brunswick.
