Come to East Jersey Old Town Village in Middlesex County’s Johnson Park on Sunday, September 14th from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. to celebrate the musical legacy of New Brunswick’s own James P. Johnson who penned the Charleston, the defining song and dance of the 1920s. Swing and sway to the signature jazz melodies of Michael Arenella & His Dreamland Orchestra, the world’s premier Jazz Age dance orchestra, and a learn to cut a rug with dance lessons from The Canarsie Wobblers. The day will also feature a vintage DJ playing records from the early 1900s to the 1930s on wind-up phonographs with a “special appearance” by an orthophonic victrola as well as food and beverages, vintage cars, photo ops and more.
